NOW IT’S CELLINO’S SONS IN THE DOCK
THE relationship between chairman Massimo Cellino and Leeds fans took another ugly turn after the Italian’s two sons were caught firing insults at supporters over social media.
Edoardo and Ercole Cellino – both listed as directors at Elland Road – have been involved in angry exchanges over the last fortnight, further souring the mood at the Championship outfit.
Edoardo used offensive language towards the disabled in a private Facebook chat with one fan, while Ercole took to Instagram to call a female supporter ‘a whale’.
“I would like to apologise for any offence that I have caused,” read a statement issued by Edoardo Cellino.
“After receiving a lot of abusive messages my emotions got the better of me and I reacted in a way that was unprofessional.
“I believe the messages were private but I know I should not have done this.
“I did not fully understand the severity of the words used as English is not my first language.
“Again, I can only apologise.”
