Grecians give their support to donor call

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO -

LAST weekend The FLP told how a host of Football League clubs are backing the campaign to increase the number of organ donors – and Exeter City are leading by example.

Grecians supporter Steve Gazzard and his helpers added more donors to the register when they set up a stall at the club. Manager Paul Tisdale and striker Clinton Morrison both popped along to offer their support.

Steve has been personally affected. His daughter, Sarah Wright, a City fan, sadly passed away in November 2012 whilst awaiting a double lung transplant.

Selflessly, upon her death, Sarah donated her organs and now three people are leading a normal life who, before, only had a week to live.

From June 2012 to date, Steve has held over 230 separate ‘Sign Up’ campaigns in Exmouth, a fantastic tribute to Sarah.

More than ten thousand people desperately require an organ transplant but there are not enough donors or organs to go around.
