NORTHAMPTON Town boss Chris Wilder has warned League Two rival clubs: you won’t like us when we’re angry.

Last weekend Carlisle boss Keith Curle described Wilder as a “lucky” manager and spoke of his surprise at seeing Northampton top of the table.

But a 4-1 victory for the Cobblers may well have changed Curle’s opinion and Wilder, named manager of the month for February, says disparaging comments will only spur his team on.

“People say silly things at silly times, and I don’t think my team needs winding up anyway, and I wouldn’t want to prod the bear,” he said.

“We have been prodded a couple of times, but you just get your head down and go on. I don’t make ridiculous comments, and I don’t talk about stuff.

“It makes me smile at times when you hear some ridiculous things going on, but there it is, that is other people that talk about it, and it’s not just one manager, there are quite a few who do it.

“You then sit back and watch your team go about things in the right way, which is always on the pitch and going and getting results.”

BLAST: Chris Wilder
