The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP - By Paddy von Behr

BLACKBURN Rovers goalkeeper Jason Steele believes Paul Lambert’s winning mentality is reflected in the team’s recent results.

Lambert took over from Gary Bowyer in November and has since eased the relegation fears.

They went into this weekend having won their previous four home matches, and Steele believes the upturn in performances is due to the expectations Lambert has of his players.

“The gaffer has made a massive impact, first and foremost through the demands he puts on the team,” said the 25year-old. “We all know if we don’t do our job properly we won’t play.

“That’s a good moral to have in any job: that if you don’t do it properly you won’t be doing it for very long.

“The winning mentality he has is rubbing off on us. Now we’ve just got to make sure we carry that on.

“When you see your manager has won promotion and also umpteen trophies as a player, including the Champions League, you think straight away you’re going to listen to him as he’s got something he’s wanting to give us.

“He can help us and hopefully next season we can have a right go at it.”
