CHARL­TON LOSSES BE­ING CUT

CHARL­TON chief ex­ec­u­tive Ka­trien Meire has moved to re­as­sure sup­port­ers the­club is work­ing hard to bal­ance the books af­ter re­port­ing losses of £3.78m for the year end­ing June 2015.

Meire has been the sub­ject of protests from sup­port­ers un­happy with the run­ning of the club.

But the losses have been trimmed by al­most £2m in 12 months and Meire says that pat­tern will con­tinue.

The Bel­gian said:“It is the board’s strat­egy to con­tinue to re­duce th­ese lev­els of losses over time and move to­wards a break-even po­si­tion, while re­main­ing highly com­pet­i­tive in the Cham­pi­onship.”
