WARNOCK’S WAVING HIS MAGIC WAND

The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP -

THE Neil Warnock effect is making big waves at Rotherham. But even the 67-year-old, who has seen it all in a long managerial career, would have struggled to predict what was coming in the final exchanges of this clash.

For 80 minutes, this was as good a performance from Derby as they could have hoped for. They marauded their way to a 3-0 lead, which could have been six, and any suggestion that their perennial late-season flop was here seemed a million miles away.

But after inexperienced boss Darren Wassall made two changes, Rotherham somehow mounted the sort of recovery which could be season-defining and the Rams capitulated.

It was mayhem in the final ten minutes and Rotherham found three goals doing it the Warnock way by throwing balls into the box. Danny Ward’s strike and a Leon Best brace saw them claim the unlikeliest of points – a tenth in four games.

Warnock is working his magic.
