BANTON CAN BE COUNTY PIN-UP
NOTTS COUNTY boss Jamie Fullarton is delighted by Jason Banton’s impact at the club, but says he has only shown hints of his ability.
The winger, 23, signed for County last month – after being released by Wycombe Wanderers – until the end of the season and impressed in the first half of last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers.
Fullarton coached Banton at Crystal Palace and reckons he still has a lot more to show fans at Meadow Lane.
“He is showing glimpses but it gives you an understanding of why I wanted to bring him to the club,” he said.“I want him to be exciting for the fans, but also more productive.
“Once he gets fully up to speed, he will extend those performances, so it’s not just 45-60 minutes here or there.
“That’s not just for Jason but for the team in general.
“The longer we can extend that over a period of time, the more chances we will create and the more opportunities we will have to score goals.
“I can’t speak for others, including the fans, but I think what Jason has shown is there is more to come.”
