MILLERS TIE UP YATES

JERRY YATES is look­ing to force his way into the Rother­ham United first team af­ter the striker put pen to pa­per on a new two-year deal.

The 19-year-old is a prod­uct of the Millers’ academy and has been on the bench for the first team on a num­ber of oc­ca­sions, though he is yet to make an ap­pear­ance this sea­son.

“I am de­lighted to have been given this op­por­tu­nity,” Yates said.“I am re­ally look­ing for­ward to my fu­ture here, and hope­fully I can now start to push on and, over the course of next sea­son, start to force my way into the team.

“The man­ager and the staff have been a big help to me in train­ing. My per­sonal aim now is to get more ex­pe­ri­ence and keep work­ing hard on my game.”
