BRIGHTON are casting a watchful eye over Dagenham & Redbridge’s man of the moment Oliver Hawkins. Hawkins notched a first-half hat-trick as he returned from injury as the east London side swept Wrexham aside 3-0 last weekend. John Still believes the powerful striker could go far and his performances are already attracting Football League interest. The FLP understands Brighton are one of a number keeping tabs on the forward the Daggers signed from National League South side Hemel Hempstead in January. His good form gave the club a fighting chance of League Two survival and he was one of only a few kept at the club by Still over the close season. The 24-year-old has worked his way up through the Non-League game having playing in Step 4 for North Greenford, Hillingdon Borough and Northwood. Brighton like the look of him and with the Dagenham manager and Albion counterpart Chris Hughton good friends, the Premier Leaguechasers could get first refusal. The Seagulls have already done business with the National League club, loaning them talented winger Jordan Maguire-Drew who is thriving at the start of the season.
