The Football League Paper - - FRONT PAGE - By John Lyons

NEWCASTLE United were brought crashing back down to earth after their midweek demolition job on QPR as a pack of hungry Wolves raided St James’ Park.

Walter Zenga’s men had failed to win in their last three Championship outings and were crushed 4-0 at home by Barnsley in midweek, but they stunned the Toon Army with a 2-0 victory.

A Chancel Mbemba own goal gave Wolves the lead and Helder Costa’s fine finish just after the hour wrapped things up, while the Magpies had Vurnon Anita sent off late on.

Huddersfield still lead the way after a 2-1 win against QPR.

Scunthorpe are the new League One leaders after a 1-0 win at Shrewsbury, while Plymouth claimed the West Country derby 2-0 at Exeter to stay top of League Two.
