PLENTY FOR CANARIES TO CHIRP ABOUT

The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP -

THE CHAMPIONSHIP is a strange old league at times.

For 45 minutes Nottingham Forest were more than a match for Norwich City, a side who only recently departed from the Premier League.

A missed penalty kick by the Canaries seemed to ignite Forest into action and their pressure paid off when Apostolos Vellios made it three goals in a week to give them a half-time lead.

Norwich City are a classy outfit however and the majority of their lineup resembled personnel playing top-flight football just last season.

The Canaries oozed class and at times during the second half it really was a case of men versus boys.

Alex Neil’s men showed exactly why they will be challenging for promotion come the end of the season, in a game where Forest showed flashes of brilliance and blemishes of a side still a work in progress.

But Norwich ran out deserved winners based on their clinical display in the second half.
