GARETH’S ON A ROLL
THIS weekend marks Gareth Ainsworth’s fouryear anniversary as Wycombe boss – and the former midfielder credits his chairman Andrew Howard for lasting so long.
Just six other Premier League and EFL managers have served longer at their current clubs, but Ainsworth, 43, believes he would have been long gone, but for Howard’s arrival two years ago.
“I definitely feel a sense of pride,” he said. “I think I have played an important part in securing what was a very unsteady ship both on and off the field.
“I know I wouldn’t have been able to do that without his influence and my four years would not have happened without him.”
