EXPERIENCED goalkeeper Ryan Clarke has left AFC Wimbledon to sign for National League club Eastleigh.

The 34-year-old former Oxford United keeper had only joined the Dons on a free transfer in June after being released by Northampton Town.

His Dons contract has been terminated by mutual consent and he has joined Eastleigh until the end of the season.

Dons boss Neal Ardley said: “After lengthy conversations with Ryan about his failure to settle at the club, we have reluctantly agreed to let him move on.

“Ryan is a good guy and a family man who wanted to do really well for Wimbledon, but he felt for personal reasons that his future needed to be at another club.”

Meanwhile, centre-back Paul Robinson is confident the Dons are now adapting to League One.

“Maybe the transition up a level hit us a bit harder than we thought,” said the 34-year-old. “We have definitely got the tools and players in the squad to do well in this division.”
