SALUTE TO BALL THE LEGEND
THE family of 1966 World Cup winner Alan Ball were presented with a Football Walk of Fame plaque at Blackpool last week in honour of his success with England.
Ball’s daughters, Keely and Mandy, were given the award, recognising their late father’s achievements while he was playing for the Tangerines.
The plaque will be displayed at Bloomfield Road alongside Ball's portrait inside main reception.
Winger Ball, who died aged 61 in 2007, played 115 times for Blackpool from 1962-66, scoring 40 goals, before moving to Everton.
He was briefly playermanager in 1980.
