THE fam­ily of 1966 World Cup win­ner Alan Ball were pre­sented with a Foot­ball Walk of Fame plaque at Black­pool last week in hon­our of his suc­cess with Eng­land.

Ball’s daugh­ters, Keely and Mandy, were given the award, recog­nis­ing their late fa­ther’s achieve­ments while he was play­ing for the Tan­ger­ines.

The plaque will be dis­played at Bloom­field Road along­side Ball's por­trait in­side main re­cep­tion.

Winger Ball, who died aged 61 in 2007, played 115 times for Black­pool from 1962-66, scor­ing 40 goals, be­fore mov­ing to Ever­ton.

He was briefly play­er­man­ager in 1980.
