The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO - By Ben Baker

PLYMOUTH Argyle boss Derek Adams welcomes interest in talented leftback Ben Purrington – but insists he’s not leaving.

The Pilgrims academy graduate, 20, has impressed since replacing Gary Sawyer, but is now sidelined with a thigh injury.

He signed his first professional deal with the club in May 2013, making his first-team debut against Oxford United seven months later.

There is interest from several Championship clubs, it’s believed, but Adams says the defender could not be at a better club to aid his development.

“It’s always nice to see your players attracted to other clubs,” said Adams.

“These clubs track a lot of players and Ben has good experience at leftback. He played 15 games on the trot before his injury.

“He’s made more than 45 appearances for the club at such a young age.

“I’m sure there will be interest in him. He is showing that he can play at this level.”

TALENT: Ben Purrington
