BORIS HAS COST DONS ‘OVER £1M’

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO -

AFC WIMBLEDON chief executive Erik Samuelson says Boris Johnson’s decision to needlessly call in their stadium application has cost the club over £1m.

Writing in his programme notes, Samuelson said the former Major of London’s call was “inexplicable” – and that view was proven correct when Sadiq Khan quickly waved their plans for a Plough Lane return through.

The Dons supremo also revealed the delay added half a year to their timescale.

He wrote: “It costs us over six months in delays and over £1m in our costs due to inflation in the construction industry.”
