OATES NOT LOST CAUSE
HARTLEPOOL boss Craig Hignett has not given up hope on once-mercurial striker Rhys Oates.
Pools went into New Year’s Eve having failed to score in 450 minutes, and Oates, 22, had chipped in with just two Checka trade Trophy goals all season.
Hignett said: “He’s put in a real shift and we always know what we get from Rhys. He’s quick and powerful. His quality can improve, but he’s only a young kid. From the positions he gets in he needs to improve his delivery.”
