SHAKERS APPLAUD LAINTON
BURY boss Chris Brass is thrilled at the impact returning goalkeeper Rob Lainton, 27, had in helping the Shakers end their 12game losing streak on Boxing Day.
Lainton made a string of saves in the 0-0 draw with Fleetwood, having resigned as a free agent on a pay-as-you-play deal the week before.
“He just wants to get his career back on track,” said Brass. “I kept it under wraps and he played for us behind closed doors in the week. He’s been working hard to get fit and his arrival has given the lads a bit of a lift.
“It’s pleasing he’s just slotted in.”
