The Football League Paper - - FA CUP THIRD ROUND -

ON this evidence, Nigel Clough’s Burton Albion certainly have the spirit to avoid relegation from the Championship and an immediate return to League One.

Clough will concede that his side were second best during the first half and were perhaps a touch fortunate to have gone in only one goal down.

However, the secondhalf fightback that ensued will provide Brewers fans with muchneeded optimism. A change in fortunes and perhaps we could have been looking at a different outcome.

Watford were made to work for their victory in the end with their Premier League superiority eventually telling.

Two clinically taken goals were enough to seal the win with Jerome Sinclair capping a fine individual display with a superb second 12 minutes from time.

Christian Kabasele’s opener seemed to settle any early nerves around Vicarage Road, but Burton can be proud of their valiant effort.
