RICHARDS READY TO TAKE WING
TORQUAY UNITED captain Courtney Richards is being chased by a host of League One clubs.
The 23-year-old midfielder is wanted by Fleetwood Town and Walsall, among others, in the third tier.
Richards is in his third season with the National League Gulls and took the armband in the summer following Angus MacDonald’s transfer to Championship side Barnsley.
Boss Kevin Nicholson has described the former Brighton & Hove Albion player as a ‘warrior’ – and now a move to the Football League looks on the cards with clubs making the most of his £10,000 buyout clause.
It would be another blow for Torquay, who are in the lower reaches of the table, following the departure of striker Nathan Blissett to Plymouth Argyle last week.
