SCUNNY’S NEW MAN IS HAPPY TO WAIT

The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP -

STRIKER Craig Davies hopes to add something different to the Scunthorpe United front-line after agreeing to join until the end of the season.

Davies had made 14 appearances for Wigan this term and turned out twice for his new side against Bury and Oxford United without scoring.

The 31-year-old knows that, with Scunthorpe flying high in League One, he won’t be an automatic selection for manager Graham Alexander.

“There are some good strikers here already and they’ve certainly been doing their job, but I’m looking to bring something else to the team,” he said.

“I met up with the manger and he was keen on the team really pushing on.

“I thought it was a good opportunity, I was pleased with what the club wanted to do, so there wasn’t too much to decide.

“He wants me to bring some experience and something different, which is something I like to do. They’ve been in the Championships before and that’s where the club wants to get back to.”
