LAWLOR EXCITED AT DONNY VISION
NEW signing Ian Lawlor is confident Doncaster are a club going places – and not just because they are fighting it out at the top of the division.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper, who spent time on loan at Barnet and Bury, signed for Rovers this week from Manchester City until the summer of 2019.
And, after seeing the club’s long-term plans, Lawlor is confident Donny can go from strength to strength.
“I’m looking forward to progressing and getting involved with the lads,” he said. “I spoke with the manager and saw the ambition of the club. It’s something I want to be a part of.
“The stadium is fantastic for a League Two club, but the project going forward is really special.”
Lawlor will compete with Ross Etheridge, 22, for a starting spot as Marko Marosi, 23, is ruled out for the next three months.
“It’s nice to feel they want me on a permanent basis,” he added. “I’m hoping to get in and play, but the aim is promotion.”
