UWE Rosler has compared the League One promotion race to a concert – and believes his side are capable of sticking around until the fat lady sings.

Fleetwood have taken the division by storm with a 17-game unbeaten run before yesterday’s visit to fellow promotion hopefuls Scunthorpe United.

The club look destined to secure at least a play-off spot and they remain locked in a fierce battle for automatic promotion.

Anyone waiting for Fleetwood to fall away looks set to be disappointed, but Rosler accepts his side are the underdogs this season, compared to the likes of Sheffield United, Millwall and Bolton.

“We are Fleetwood Town and we are playing in the concert with the big clubs,” he said.

“Hopefully we can stay there until the final note is played. You have to earn the right to be where you are, and we are here because we are good at what we are doing.

“We can get better and we strive to get better because that is our motivation in every game.”
