SALUTE TO GREEN ON HIS 600th

The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP -

GARRY Monk insists that Robert Green’s professionalism is the key to his longevity as the goalkeeper reaches 600 league appearances.

Green, 37, was set to achieve the milestone against former club QPR yesterday, and Leeds boss Monk couldn’t be happier for his evergreen stopper.

“I think it’s a massive achievement,” he said of the ex-Norwich and West Ham man. “Credit to him, it just highlights the professional he is.

“You need a little bit of luck along the way with injuries and suspensions, but he’s had a fantastic career and he is still going strong.”
