SARLL’S TROOPS ARE NOW THE REAL DEAL

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO -

STEVENAGE boss Darren Sarll said this week that no-one is ever satisfied in football, but Boro fans at the Lamex Stadium may disagree after witnessing the performance of the season.

Three goals and three points was exactly what the doctor ordered after a tough week, and Stevenage are proving time and again they are real promotion contenders.

Former Non-League forward Matt Godden was superb with his Jamie Vardy-like pressing, combined with an eye for goal, seeing him net yet again this year.

As for Pompey, they lack a cutting edge and real attacking flair to nail down an automatic promotion place, despite previously winning three on the bounce.

It is all the more confusing therefore that Conor Chaplin remains an impact sub.

But with a fluffed penalty highlighting perhaps a tad too much arrogance, Chaplin isn’t doing himself any favours to grab the starting spot that the fans are crying out for.
