The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP - By Ben Baker

JOE Bryan has found himself filling in all over the pitch at relegation-threatened Bristol City this season but says he’s enjoyed his most recent stint at left-back.

The 23-year-old has spent time in the centre of midfield and as a wing-back in this campaign but now finds himself as part of the Robins’ defensive line.

He’s enjoyed some success there as well, with City conceding just once in their three games before taking on Huddersfield Town.

Bryan concedes it will take time for him to overcome his natural instincts and learn to fulfil his potential in his new position.

“Because I’m naturally attacking, I’m always going to take time to adapt to it,” he said.

“I’ve been switching between three positions and haven’t really nailed one down all season, but I’m enjoying it at left-back at the moment.

“Consistency always helps. It allows you to focus, to look back at your games and say to yourself ‘I need to make sure I don’t do that again’ or ‘I need to do more of what I did there’, rather than wondering if you’re going to play in that position the following week.

“I might make mistakes but I’ll always do my best wherever I play.”
