REUBEN’S HAPPY TO MIX IT UP AT EXETER
EXETER’S Reuben Reid says he is willing to play in any position for the Grecians, even if he prefers scoring goals to keeping them out.
The striker brought up ten goals for the season with a double in his side’s 3-0 victory over Cheltenham in midweek, leading the line alongside David Wheeler, as opposed to his more usual role of starting out wide and coming inside.
Reid insists he will do whatever it takes to help the Grecians in their bid for promotion.
“I think it’s clear to see to everyone who knows football the kind of role I’ve played for the team,” he said.
“I’ve been the point man where my back’s to goal a lot of the time and I’m linking play and people are getting rewards from it.
“It’s nice to mix it up but it’s not about individuals here. I’ll play whatever role I’m asked to – well, maybe not in goal – but any role that gets us those points, or close to where we want to be, which is getting out of this league. I’ll put a shift in, 100 per cent.”
