JOSH Ruffels has his eyes firmly set on Wembley and believes his struggle to get a consistent run in the Oxford team this term could work in his favour.

Before Tuesday’s 4-2 defeat by Bolton, the 23year-old midfielder had not started back-to-back games since October but is still hoping to play a role in the Checkatrade Trophy Final against Coventry next Sunday.

Ruffels said: “I want to give the gaffer (Michael Appleton) something to think about for Wembley.

“Mentally and physically, I feel really fresh and ready to go.
