The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP - By Matt Wright

BRISTOL Rovers have had a successful season in League One following backto-back promotions, but manager Darrell Clarke has already identified areas where he wants to strengthen his side in the summer.

The Pirates were just outside the play-off places before yesterday’s trip to Peterborough, with their home form propelling them up the table.

Clarke, 39, has had talks with the board over the transfer budget they are planning for the coming months.

Though he wouldn’t reveal the exact details of the discussions, he was happy with how they went.

Clarke said: “We’re always asking for more and demanding more – and that will continue.

“We know what’s needed. It’s not rocket science where we need to improve, the players that need to come into the squad and the recruitment side of things in the summer.

“I already know where we need to be heading and we need to make sure we get the right ones.”
