The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW - By Dan Barnes

EXETER boss Paul Tisdale wants fans to keep banging the drum – both figuratively and literally – to cheer their team to a play-off spot.

The Grecians are one of a swathe of teams in a scrap for the top seven and manager Tisdale said: “They (the Exeter players) like the drumming, they like the noise, they like that constant rhythm to the game.

“It probably drowns out the one or two who are a bit nervous and a bit anxious, so that’s certainly the best atmosphere we can play in.

“When it goes quiet, you can hear the odd frustration or nervousness, but when you get the drums going – and the noise from the Big Bank – it pushes the players along.

“It creates a rhythm and we’re certainly at our best when that atmosphere’s in the ground.”

Tisdale was also keep to encourage supporters to keep their views positive.

The Grecians boss added: “Give as much encouragement as you can, and keep the atmosphere.”
