The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP -

WITH two games of the regular season left, it looks as though Sheffield Wednesday are heading into the play-offs after yet another hard-fought win.

Owls assistant boss Lee Bullen distanced himself from the idea after this latest gritty win, but his team – now on a five-game winning run – do look to have good momentum behind them at the most crucial of stage in the campaign.

There is still strength in depth at Carlos Carvalhal’s disposal too, and that could also be a pivotal factor ahead of what promises to be another action-packed and thrilling month or so as the fight to realise that Premier League dream continues.

As for Derby, they showed glimpses of what can be built on during what is sure to be a hectic summer for recently-appointed boss Gary Rowett.

There is a strong nucleus to his squad already there, but fresh faces will also be needed if they are to challenge for a top-six spot next term.
