‘GET USED TO ACHES AND PAINS’

CREWE man­ager David Artell be­lieves a drain­ing sea­son has fi­nally caught up with his play­ers.

The Rail­way­men played three games in nine days ear­lier this month – los­ing to Yeovil and Ac­cring­ton and draw­ing with Notts County – but Artell wants them to learn how to cope.

He said: “A num­ber had not played be­fore Christ­mas and they have had to play 15, 16, 17 games and then it is game 18 and their body is strug­gling.

“They are get­ting knocks and aching, but they have to get used to it.

“It is part and par­cel of foot­ball and you have to play with knocks a lot of the time.”
