CAIRNEY: FULHAM FLYING ON RAILS

The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP - By Charlie Bennett

TOM CAIRNEY says Fulham will be the most feared team in the play-offs – if they manage to secure a top-six finish.

The Cottagers are on a charge – they were sixth heading into the weekend – and timing their run perfectly as they bid to return to the Premier League after a three-year absence.

Boss Slavisa Jokanovic has the Whites playing an exciting brand of football and, with momentum on their side, midfielder Cairney believes no side is playing with more freedom.

“We have gone under the radar a little bit this season with the way we have been playing.

“We haven’t been in the top six for the past few months but I think we are hitting form at the right time and we are scoring a lot of goals,” the 26-year-old said.

“We are the highest scorers in the league (82 pre-weekend) so I think people will fear us.

“We do play expansive football and sometimes we have been caught out, but that is what has got us in this position now and I don’t think we will change.”
