EIGHT TO EXIT AS ROVERS REBUILD
BRISTOL Rovers manager Darrell Clarke has announced a list of players that will be retained by the club – and those heading for the exit door.
Forwards Ellis Harrison and Rory Gaffney, defenders James Clarke and Alfie Kilgour plus midfielder Ryan Broom have all been offered new contracts and are set to pull on the Pirates jersey again next term.
But Clarke will have to recruit hard once again this summer after a total of eight players were confirmed to be leaving the Memorial Stadium.
Goalkeeper Will Puddy, defenders Bob Harris and Danny Greenslade, midfielders Cristian Montano, Jake Gosling and Dominic Thomas, and forwards Jermaine Easter and Jamie Lucas will be released when the season concludes today.
Clarke said: “It’s always difficult to make decisions such as this.
“I have been doing it for a number of years now and it doesn’t get any easier.
“As far as the players who have not received an offer are concerned, I would like to say they have been a credit to themselves and the club while they have been with us.
“They have worked incredibly hard and have always given their best. I wish them all every success for the future.”
