‘WAKE-UP CALL’ FOR PATERSON

The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP -

JAMIE Paterson says the tough love shown by manager Lee Johnson is the catalyst for his upturn in form.

The Bristol City winger has scored in their last three home games after a spell on the sidelines. His last start before this month was in mid-January.

“Sometimes when you’re out of the team it’s a wake-up call for you,” said 25-year-old Paterson.

“Of course it was frustrating not playing. You just have to work hard off the pitch and wait for your opportunity.

“I was ready for when the chance came along and, thankfully, I’ve been able to take it.”
