GUNNERS STARLET IN AT PRESTON
PRESTON North End have pulled off a transfer coup by snapping up Arsenal’s promising striker Stephy Mavididi on a season-long loan.
The England U19 international signed on Friday and will be keen to impress in the Championship following a loan spell with League One outfit Charlton last term.
Lilywhites boss Alex Neil is delighted to have captured the 19-year-old.
The former Norwich manager said: “He’s got real pace and power and I think he’ll be a real top player at some stage.
“We want to try and help the development of that for our benefit and for his. I think it’ll make some good business.
“I think he’s a perfect fit for us, certainly in terms of attributes that we like to have in the team and he’ll give us that.”
Mavididi is eager to get started in his new club’s colours.
“I just want to put on that shirt, run out and do well,” he said. “I’m buzzing.”
