EAMES BUZZING OVER HIS SIGNING HAT-TRICK
BARNET boss Rossi Eames is pleased he has been able to boost his squad with the signings of Craig Ross, Richard Brindley and Shaquile Coulthirst.
The transfers represent Eames’ first opportunity to put his own stamp on the squad following his appointment in May.
Forward Coulthirst, 22, joined on a free transfer from Peterborough, having scored five goals in 15 appearances on loan at Mansfield last season, and Eames is clearly an admirer of his talents.
“Firstly, he fills the No 11 shirt which everyone has waited for,” said the Barnet boss. “He fits the culture and philosophy we want to play with, on and off the ball.
“He’s flexible with regards to the fact he can play in both a front three and in a front two. He also offers pace, aggression and can score goals.”
Eames also spoke highly of new goalkeeper Ross, who joins from National League club Macclesfield Town having rejected a contract offer from his former employers.
The 27-year-old ex-Reading and Crystal Palace trainee has signed on a oneyear contract.
“Craig is an excellent professional who played over 30 games last season,” said the Barnet boss.
“He is hungry, has a winning mentality and the willingness to develop.”
Defender Brindley, 24, has also joined the club on a free after he was released by Colchester over the summer. He made 43 appearances for the U’s last season having previously helped Rotherham United win promotion to the Championship in 2014.
Of the transfer, Eames said: “It’s a fantastic coup for the club as he’s got vast experience.”
The north London club have released Bira Dembele, Tom Champion has joined Boreham Wood on a free and James Pearson has moved to Coventry.
