GLOVERS CHERRY PICK THE CROP...

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO RESULTS - By Rich Dore

EDDIE Howe has revealed why Yeovil is the ideal development club to send his Bournemouth youth talent on loan.

Cherries forward Sam Surridge, 19, joined the Glovers this week on a season-long loan deal and follows Matt Butcher and Ben Whitfield, who have joined in recent years.

Speaking after the Cherries’ 3-1 pre-season win over Yeovil on Wednesday, Howe said: “We feel that Darren (Way, Yeovil boss) and Terry (Skiverton, assistant), who we’ve known for a long time, are really good people and good coaches.

“It’s very important, when you’ve got talented young guys coming through, that they have a place to play and a good home with good people.”

Surridge scored eight goals on loan at Poole last season. Way said: “We feel this next move is a fantastic move for Sam and Yeovil.

“We must thank Eddie Howe for trusting us with the development of his young talent.”
