The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP -

WE’RE only two games into the Sky Bet Championship season so let’s not get ahead of ourselves, but Birmingham City do look like they are on the up.

They came up against a very confident Bristol City side who arrived at St Andrews on the back of two big wins, but gradually grew into the game as it wore on.

If Harry Redknapp can get the backing of the owners at St Andrews and bring in the quality of player he would like, the Blues could become a real force to be reckoned with this season. But they will be hoping that the second-half injury suffered by the impressive Che Adams, who limped off with an apparent hamstring problem, is not serious.

As for Bristol City, they have started this season on fire and will still be wondering how they weren’t further ahead when Craig Gardner equalised yesterday.

If they keep hold of their best players and all the new signings settle quickly, the Robins will have no problems.
