The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO - By Sam Cox

THE second-round draw on Thursday night conjured up a few tasty ties, including the East Lancashire derby between League One new boys Blackburn and Premier League Burnley. There will also be a west London derby as QPR host Brentford. Wolves have been handed a difficult test as they’re away to last season’s finalists, Southampton. Sheffield United entertain Leicester, while League Two Carlisle take on Sunderland at Brunton Park. Barnet visit Premier League newcomers Brighton. MK Dons host topflight Swansea, while Rochdale travel to Stoke. Newport County and West Ham will both play their games away, despite being drawn at home. Their fixtures against Leeds and Cheltenham respectively have been reversed. Due to the World Athletics Championships, West Ham’s London Stadium won’t be ready to host matches. Newport requested an away tie as their recently relaid pitch won’t be ready in time. Grimsby host Derby in their rearranged first-round match on Tuesday, August 22, with the winners visiting Barnsley. After hiccups with both the first and second round draws, the EFL will hope for better luck next time. The third-round draw takes place in Beijing on August 24.
