SHRIMPS TRIB­UTE TO THEIR TWO JBS

MORE­CAMBE have an­nounced that they will re­name the main bar at the Globe Arena af­ter leg­endary club bene­fac­tor Joseph Barnes (JB) Christie and cur­rent man­ager Jim Bent­ley.

The con­ve­nient ini­tials of the duo have led to the nam­ing of JB’s Bar af­ter con­sul­ta­tion be­tween fans and club direc­tor, Rod Tay­lor.

“The de­sire of the sup­port­ers to recog­nise the club’s pa­tron JB Christie and Jim Bent­ley was re­ally clear and we are de­lighted to sup­port this,” said Tay­lor.

“Work will start soon on re­brand­ing the bar to cre­ate a fan­tas­tic area that will have a real link with the club’s past and present.”

The Shrimps are also plan­ning to build a Le­gends Bar in hon­our of those who have marked the his­tory of the club in sea­sons past at Christie Park and then the Globe Arena.

Tay­lor added: “Plans have been drawn up, it will be a major boost to our fa­cil­i­ties.”
