CONROY HAPPY TO LIVE WITH PRESSURE

The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP - By Jack Miller

SWINDON defender Dion Conroy is convinced his centre-back partnership with skipper Olly Lancashire can flourish in the coming weeks.

The 21-year-old former Chelsea starlet has been in and out of the Robins’ starting line-up this season as he competes with veteran Chris Robertson, 31, for a starting berth.

But, having adapted to the rigours of League Two, Conroy reckons he and Lancashire, 28, have the potential to thrive in each other’s company.

He said: “For certain players, it might take a couple of weeks and for some it might only take a training session. I have already clicked with him.

“I’m learning off everything he does and everything he tells me.

“You need to play well to keep your spot. It keeps everyone on their toes in training and I think it is a good thing. I’ve always had that pressure.

“League Two is a lot more direct, more physical but that is the only difference between that and League One.”
