UN­PRE­DICTABLE Hull City put a five-match win­less Cham­pi­onship run be­hind them in per­fect style – by ham­mer­ing strug­gling Birm­ing­ham City 6-1.

Steve Cot­ter­ill was ap­pointed Blues man­ager on Fri­day and watched from the stands as his new side were cut to shreds by the ram­pant Tigers.

League One table-top­pers Shrews­bury beat Scun­thorpe 2-0, while Notts County hold top spot in League Two de­spite los­ing 3-1 in their derby at Mans­field. Danny Rose net­ted twice for the Stags.
