The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE ONE -

SHREWSBURY look like the real deal.

No team is capable of taming them as they top League One after 12 unbeaten games.

Talented manager Paul Hurst is dreading the “Unlucky 13” headlines away to Plymouth next week but even when this run ends, the Shrews will still look the real thing. They hadn’t won at Walsall since 1993 and Hurst was desperate for his team to end that unwanted record, as well as add to the club records they are setting.

Had Walsall’s Jon Guthrie been sent off as he should have been with 70 minutes of the derby to play they probably would have won.

But this is a good Shrewsbury side capable of riding all kinds of problems.

They are a soundlybuilt, confident team with a good goalscorer in striker Stefan Payne, who has seven goals already this season.

Their first defeat, when it happens, will be the Shrews’ next test. They are more than capable of overcoming it.
