PEP CALM OVER AGON SETBACK

The Football League Paper - - NEWS -

AGON Mehmeti’s hamstring injury could hardly have come at a worse time for the Albanian striker but Oxford boss Pep Clotet is content he has the squad depth to cope.

Having scored his first goal for the U’s at Peterborough last weekend, the 27-year-old tore his hamstring eight minutes into his first start against Brighton Under-21s in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday.

“It’s because he stretched the leg in a way that the muscle felt a lot of stress,” explained Clotet.

“It could be a few weeks because it’s not a small one. We have enough depth in the squad to get through this.”
