LIONS SEE RED OVER JED APPEAL
FUMING Millwall are calling for a review of the appeals process after Jed Wallace’s red card against Burton wasn’t overturned.
The winger was controversially sent off for a sliding challenge on the Brewers’ Tom Flanagan in Millwall’s 1-0 home defeat last weekend, but the Lions were confident the red card – and three-match ban would be erased on appeal.
In a statement, Millwall said: “The club is extremely disappointed by the decision and believes the result of this appeal calls into question the FA’s entire processes in this regard.”
Lions chief executive Steve Kavanagh has requested a meeting with the FA, the head of judicial services at the FA, the head of the PGMOL (Professional Games Match Officials Limited) and the EFL to outline the club’s concerns.
