FUM­ING Mill­wall are call­ing for a re­view of the ap­peals process af­ter Jed Wal­lace’s red card against Bur­ton wasn’t over­turned.

The winger was con­tro­ver­sially sent off for a slid­ing chal­lenge on the Brew­ers’ Tom Flana­gan in Mill­wall’s 1-0 home de­feat last week­end, but the Li­ons were con­fi­dent the red card – and three-match ban would be erased on ap­peal.

In a state­ment, Mill­wall said: “The club is ex­tremely dis­ap­pointed by the de­ci­sion and be­lieves the re­sult of this ap­peal calls into ques­tion the FA’s en­tire pro­cesses in this re­gard.”

Li­ons chief ex­ec­u­tive Steve Ka­vanagh has re­quested a meet­ing with the FA, the head of ju­di­cial ser­vices at the FA, the head of the PGMOL (Pro­fes­sional Games Match Of­fi­cials Lim­ited) and the EFL to out­line the club’s con­cerns.
