STANLEY’S JOHNSON KEEN TO CHIP IN
GETTING on the scoresheet is something Callum Johnson is determined to add to his game after failing to bag a goal so far this season for Accrington.
The Middlesbrough loanee has started the last five league matches and is looking forward to breaking his goalscoring duck.
He said: “I know I need to chip in with goals as we need them from all over.”
The 21-year-old midfielder has loved his time at Accrington but admits it took a while to adapt to the physicality of League Two.
He said: “I have enjoyed it from the first day I came here. This is men’s football.
“It’s more physical and there is the pressure of games where results matter. It’s all about winning.
“I hate losing anyway, but it’s all about my own progress and helping the team make progress.
“When I first came, it was frustrating as I wasn’t getting into the side.
“B ut I understand that’s football.
“I had to work extra hard to impress in training and take my chance when it came.”
