CHURCH PROUD OF EXPLOITS
FORMER Reading striker Simon Church singled out Wales’ run to the Euro 2016 semi-finals as his career highlight after retiring at the age of 29.
In midweek, the ex-Charlton and MK Dons man, who made two substitute appearances for Plymouth in January, hung up his boots due to a longterm hip injury.
“I have been fortunate enough to have lived my dream for 11 years professionally. I have experienced moments you can only dream of when you’re a child,” said Church, who was capped 28 times by Wales.
“Playing for Wales was an absolute honour. The achievements we had as a team are something I’m immensely proud of being a part of.”
