We’re Rover the moon with £6,000

A fundraiser at Auchen­larie Hol­i­day Park helped raise more than £6,000 for Save the Chil­dren.

Leigh Rid­dell and Jenny Car­son, from Cas­tle Dou­glas, or­gan­ised an evening of en­ter­tain­ment in­clud­ing a raf­fle and mu­sic from band The Benidorm Rovers.

That raised £3,100, while a Gov­ern­ment scheme to match do­na­tions to Save the Chil­dren dur­ing De­cem­ber brought in another £3,000.

Leigh works at Boots, in Cas­tle Dou­glas, and her bosses put in a fur­ther £500, tak­ing the tally to £6,600.

This is the sev­enth year the pair have held the fundraiser and they’ve raised nearly £18,000 in that time.
