New home for nursery

Haugh class quits cabin after 25 years

The Galloway News - - NEWS - Stuart Gillespie

Haugh of Urr Nursery’s new home was unveiled on Saturday.

For more than 25 years, the nursery had operated out of a portable cabin in the grounds of Hardgate Primary but that was deemed by the council to be no longer fit for purpose.

So they’re now in a new building, built with government money that was ringfenced for services for twoyear-olds who meet specific criteria.

The new nursery has a large, airy playroom, an office, toilets, a laundry room and lots of storage space.

There’s also a great outdoor space, including a soft playground, sandpits and mud kitchen.

Thanks go to everyone who has helped make the move happen including the council, Awards for All, Stewartry Area Committee, Dalbeattie Rotary Club, Castle Douglas Rotary Club, past and present committee members, nursery parents, staff and families.

For inquiries contact nursery manager Susan Bagnall on 07788688800.
